ARTISTIC STATEMENT
ARTISTIC STATEMENT
In my artistic practice, I focus on exploring the transfer of meaning in performance art by comparing it to expressions through non-human vessels such as robotics and digital art, often in collaboration with AI. Here, I raise questions about the gender and identity of the programmer or producer, which in turn reflects in the final outcome of the artwork, prompting me to engage with these themes within my creative process.
Often, I‘m intrigued by the relationship and mirroring of unfulfilled desires or violence, which drives my investigation into intermediate movement patterns.
These patterns serve as attempts at coherent communication between the intangible interface of movement, particularly between two bodies. While these movements cannot be replicated exactly by a human being, they can be easily replicated by a robot. However, the glitches and imperfections serves as placeholders for new interpretations and understandings.
In this context, I engage critically with social phenomena and the digital revolution, as well as with artistic paradigms and the role of the recipient in the current process of grappling with new technology in its still-claimed territory.
